Please allow this email communication to serve as our weekly update. At this current time, there has been no change from our last communication. There has been no new cases of COVID-19 positive residents or employees other than what was reported throughout the week.

We closed our red zone as the last case of covid we helped quarantine from the community was discharged home. We will be red zone ready if we need to isolate residents again, but for now its a covid free facility.

Visitation for green zone residents is now inside and outside. Please make an appointment by calling the front desk 818-244-1133. Visitors are limited per day, so please respect our time constraints in this unique temporary visitation program.

Also, residents with a physicians order, who live in the green zone, and who have been vaccinated are permitted to leave the facility out on pass. Thank you.

Are you vaccinated? If both the visitor and resident have received both vaccinations, and the facility has that information, visitors may actually touch residents (like giving a hug or holding a hand).  This is based on recent guidelines and is subject to change. But this could be just the reason to go and vaccinate you and your family.   February 13, 2021 At this current time, there has been no change from our last communication. A note about Covid 19 Vaccination Progress: at his time, most residents (85%+) have received their second dose vaccinations and about the same percentage for staff. This is above the state average and we’re proud to vaccinate faster than many other local facilities.

The community around us is having extremely high levels of covid 19 cases and we are discouraging any in person visitation. However, the facility has some discretion and we will continue to allow green zone residents to schedule visitations in the outdoor tent areal

**A reminder** that families MUST abide by our visitation rules. Failure to follow rules can put our community at risk, and we ask you to help us protect our residents.

We know that as the holidays approach, we all want to make more contact, more gifts, more conversations and more risk. When making your holiday plans, please weigh the cost of a potential covid exposure in a nursing home, with the benefits.

We wish you a safe and hopeful Happy Holidays from the staff and residents of our facility family here at Glendale Post Acute Center. Stay safe.

June 12, 2020 Please allow this communication to serve as notification that there have been no new covid cases at the facility.  The facility has 20 residents on isolation in the designated area and they are being kept in isolation.  We admitted 3 new residents from the local acute care hospitals who have covid.  No staff members have recently tested positive for covid since our Outbreak ended. Department of Public Health officially ended our Outbreak Status on May 19th, and operations are returning to normal.  We will keep you updated to any new developments. Please be assured that during this time we will keep the lines of communication open to give you peace of mind while we work to ensure the safety of your loved ones and our staff.  We ask that you bear with us as we have a very large surge of call volume from families and providers and are working to answer each call timely.

Glendale Post Acute Center recently partnered with Los Angeles County Public Health in an effort to provide care to the most vulnerable community during this pandemic.  As such, GPAC is now a dedicated covid-19 facility.  Essentially, this means that Facility is able to accept vulnerable patients who are covid+ from an acute care hospital and provide the care they need as well as the non Covid+ patients. Facility has designated a Covid + unit that is separated from the remainder of the facility with dedicated staff and designated equipment with a barrier and separate entrance as permitted. By accepting these covid+ patients it frees up hospital beds across Southern California that are desperately needed for those in dire need.

We will continue to serve non-Covid residents as normal.

This week, Glendale Post Acute did not have any new cases of Covid-19 and no residents have developed any new symptoms.

May 12, 2020

Facility-wide testing was done and the results indicate there are now a total of 32 residents who are Covid-positive and 23 staff members who are Covid-positive. All Covid-positive residents are in a dedicated “Covid wing” in the facility. We continue to follow all infection-control guidance from public health.

We will continue to update this site if there are more positive cases in the future.

May 8, 2020

There are 16 residents and nine staff who have tested positive for Covid-19 at Glendale Post Acute Center. All residents are under strict isolation precautions. The nine staff members are on leave and will not return until given approval from their physicians.

Know that we continue to monitor all staff members before and after each shift for signs and symptoms of Covid-19, including taking each person’s temperature. We are adhering to the infection control guidelines as outlined by public health.

Please return to this webpage for updates as they come in.
